I am curious to see how much dry jerky this makes.

I'd estimate the meat to be about 8lbs worth.

I know.....If i only get like 3-4lbs of jerky out of a hindquarter, it won't really be worth my time to make it again for people, just myself.

i say smoke it so it gives it that long good flavor

it can be made by both.

I assume smoking would taste better.

Dehydrator= easier.

This was about 2lbs of meat and it took up 4 trays. So I reckon I can get about 2.5lbs of meat per dehydrator load.
