Got a quote today. What do you think?

This place is a really high end shop, they do stuff from all over, and ive seen some of their finished products. Crazy expensive stuff and some crazy configurations. I went through a couple albums they had on display and they do intense customizations. Cars, boats, quads, bikes, and more from all over the country people have shipped here. Just incase anyone here is from the Sacramento area the place is Acme Tops and Tunes. What in this list can I do by myself without fing anything up (my truck or the equipment im installing). Where will I find the best prices for this equipment?

Maybe consider other companies for your products. Here are just a few to look at. You could save a lot of money and get the same quality equipment.

Speakers: CDT, Hybrid Audio, Image Dynamics, Boston Accoustics

Subs: SSA, Dayton, TC Sounds

Amps: Mmats, Sundown, Fosgate,

ya..you can do alot better than that..you can get recommendations on here for the equipment, and as stated before..a forum member wouldnt5 mind helping you install, and you will also get some experience too.thats too high for me,i could buy 2 used hondas for that price

You can do anything yourself if you've ever been good with your hands or played with Legos. I've done all my own stuff with no previous experience. But I'd say the easiest thing is the head-unit, and changing the speakers. Setting up the amp I guess could be a bit more daunting if you're awful with your hands. Just put a ring terminal on the battery, run the wire through the firewall, under the door sill, out to the back seat, and plug it into the amp.

If this shop is that good, then the installation prices dont seem too bad, but the price for some of the equipment is way too high, and I agree that you can find equipment that you would be just as happy with for much less. You dont really need to use ARC Audio unless you are an avid SQ enthusiast, you'll be just as happy with some cheaper but still upper end brands. Do they install equipment if you get it yourself? You could try to doing some of it yourself after buying the equipment online and just having them install whatever you arent comfortable doing, wiring for amps and headunits can sometimes be confusing to someone who has no mechanical experience
