Its possible...I've just never had it.
If you have a cut in the rca shielding it would be alot easier to get noise also.
I say first take a set of rcas and jump straight from the HU to the amp without running them through the carpet...if the noise goes away, its the rcas.
I'd also make sure the ground was grinded down to clean metal and not on top of paint.
