Got a $260 speed ticket.

I'm 22, a 98 on the MA insurance rating, and this is my first moving violation. The cop was a super dick, he didn't ask me anything except how I'm doing (good, and yourself?). He took my info and said he was going to give me a $460 ticket for 71 in a 25, but elected to give me the lesser, $260 ticket for 71 in a 45. I was driving back from school, fresh off the highway. I was heading into a rotary, but it's all dark and what not. I just looked at the rated speed limit and it said $45. There is van that's been on my *** the whole time and we've been doing like ~80 the whole way down. Guess who didn't get pulled over? So I'm obviously going to have to take this to court...what is my defense? If I could find the guy that was riding my ***, I'd like to split the ticket with him...

The point remains that he gave me a $260 ticket, my first ever. And I've been driving for 6+ years. He was a dick because there were two people that were driving the same speed, but he elected to give me the ticket. He was sitting in a 25 coming off a highway. He was probably sitting next to the first 25 mph speed limit, which I'm not even sure was there. Also, he was giving me the ticket as soon as he turned his radar on and put his donut down.
