Ive got a question for Louisiana_CRX or anyone else who can give me some info DDs website claims that the Z1a was built to run off stock electrical systems and I am wondering if this is true. I cant imagine that an amp that puts out 4000+ watts at 12v can be easy on the electrical but if it is let me know because I need something to power my 06 XXX.

Uh... they are made to "make the most power from limited current supplies", they never said they'd make full power off a stock electrical. What THEY are saying is that it should make more power than many other amps because of it's efficient design, not that it was going to squirt off 4kw from a stock setup.

Yeah thats what I thought I couldnt imagine it would be able to do that but its definately decieveing when they say "The Z1a makes incredible amounts of power from stock electrical systems" it makes it seem like you can run them with a mild setup which is why I asked the question in the first place. Anyway thanks for the info.

One would be perfect for a pair seeing a 1 ohm load...maybe one for SPL competition...but a Z1a daily on a XXX would be way to much power...The XXX for daily like about 2000rms...the best DD amp for that power is the DD M2 which is rated at 1700 at 1 ohm....The DD M2 as in all DD amps are under rated expect to see closer to 2000 at 1 ohm....

Yeah I know the rms is 2000 but everyone that ive seen says that you need at least 3kw to see its real potential and even more than that to see full excursion. Anyway I agree that the z1a is to powerful and I like the m2 but I want something with a little more power maybe an m3. I dunno it will be a while before I decide because I dont have the money yet anyway.
