Got 2 subs, now I need an amp

i was looking on ebay for the JL amp. now that i look at it again it doesnt say anything about a warranty. theres another person selling the same amp for $156 with a 2 year warranty.... but its ebay so i doubt that 2 year warranty is worth sh1t.
Yeh, I'm not a fan of those kind of warranties lol. If you want everything to match, go JL. If you want to give your subs all the power they deserve an still have some head room that is nice for the amp's sake, go audiopipe. The audiopipe will treat you well and last as long as you don't expect more of it than it's capable of. With those subs, that shouldn't be a concern.

"taking it easy with the gains" yeah ok fine, but that also means you need to measure exactly how much your putting to it. cause either you'll be guessing at it. so it could be 200 or could be 400 and why bother going through a bigger amp to possibly push less power or melt the subs? to me i'd just save the hassel of trying to squeeze out an extra 50watts and get the smaller. but, just my thoughts on it.

You have to know what you're doing either way, he can put a 200 watt amp to those subs and fry them if he's not careful.

i dont care about stuff matching. just want a good amp

kinda off topic, but are refurb amps good? that Cadence A5+HC looks nice and from what i read its a beast (considering its size).
I've had good experiences with refurbs. At the end of the day, there's good ones and bad ones...you just have to hope you get lucky with a good one. I always have, yet I have friends that have bought brand new items and managed to get stuck with probably the 1 of 10,000 of that product that managed to be defective. Obviously, they got replacements since they were brand new but it's all luck in the end. All my refurbs have come from various ebay sellers and I've been lucky. Just be sure to hook it up ASAP for testing. That'd be my choice in your situation.

that amp is directly from cadence themselves and if you have any problems they will totally fix it no problem. i have bought tons of amps refurbed off them only one went on me, might of been my fault. 1 and a half week later i had a brand new one. roy will always take care of you

i ended up buying a brand new JL AUDIO J2-500.1. I got it for $147 on ebay (had a $10 coupon), and its got a 2 year warranty. i thought the price was good for what im getting. like someone said in a previous post, the fact that its a JL will be beneficial if i ever try to resell it on craiglist.

sorta off topic, but i dont want to start another thread. should i get a capacitor? i really dont want the subs to drain my batteries. My truck is diesel and those two batteries arent cheap (i spent over $200 replacing them last month). maybe like a 1 farad and 2 farad???
