ok im finaly gonna get my system into my car since i just got my lisence and a job. im buying an amp that pushes 600 watts thats gonna go to my 4 re 8's. and im gonna build a box probly tomarow and the desing i have for my car i can get a box thats 1 cubic foot each sub tuned to 29hz , so will that amount of space do the subs good with 150 watts each?

I dont have any experience with these subs (just to let you know) However from what i read/hear that should be pretty swell for the little buggers!! Beware i hear these little 8's can get loud!! Hehehe! I want some!

Box is a little too big IMO, power looks good....make the box a lil smaller and you should be good. Also i dont know if your lookin for sq sql or spl but if your lookin for more spl then you should tune a little higher, maybe somthing like 35-38hz.

well im looking for a pretty well as even ratio of SPL and SQ as i can get from them and i was told that tuning lower will get deeper? and im also looking for deeper bass too.

well, they are 8" subs...keep that in mind. They ARE amazing..but as for them being able to perform very well in the 20hz regions...they won't be anywhere near a 12, 15, or 18. Ported...i would give them .5-.7 cubes AT most and tune it to 35 hz at lowest. You'll have good SQ all the way to an octave below 35hz...so it'll sound great. good luck...peace

ok heres my new box i got it to be .8 cubes each tuned to 35hz, hows that sound? or should i maybe go just a little bit smaller?

I wouldnt go any smaller than .8 but that is just me.....I also prefer a lower tuning more 28-30hz but then again i dont really prefer ported boxes...but if they are ported i like the lower tuned ones...

yeah, and cellerbr...he needs it tuned higher than most other ported boxes b/c they are 8's!! and yeah, .8 cubes each is the VERY LARGEST i would go. good luck, peace

I dunno i would imagine that they can play down to 28-30 at least!!! so tuned to 30 wtih SS set to 28 should sound swell IMO....And .8 is what RE reccomends.....Model them in winisd....You can go bigger for a little more SPL....Not that i would...But you can...But at the same time it sacrifices SQ..

i dont have winisd it doesnt work for mac's. but anyways so i guess im gonna stick with the .8 cubes tuned to 35hz. thanks for all the help guys! cant wait to get it all hooked up. ill have some pics up in a week or so depending on how long this takes me.
