good outboard active xovers?

so im deciding i want to run my SLC's active... ive got an alpine 40x4 @ 4ohm amp and an alpine 9857 deck, so i will need an outboard xover... ive been looking and looking and i cant seem to find anything decent... this will be my first active setup so nothing extremely fancy, but something that will do the job right.... what are you guys using?

9853 and 9855 do, not sure about the 9857.... but I don't think the SLC's mid is going to be happy with 40w...

I think you'd be in better shape bridging the 4ch down to 2 ch and using the xovers for now.... get a 4x100 amp or a second 40x2 (for tweets) before you go active...

nah its a 2006 model without any of the processing features.. i just like it for my ipod

i have the amp bridged and running them passive right now but i think i should be able to get more out of them

i may try it and if the mids need more juice go with a second amp for the tweets as you said

The Coustic XM6 is good for a starter xover.

How much are you looking to spend ?

I got dibs on that, so we'll see. It is a good crossover though. You can get the new model on woofersetc for like 125.

Just got an XM6 of eBay brand new for $49. Need it cause I was clumsy and killed my PRA-H400. Will be a stop gap until I get my PXA-H701 in a few months. The Coustics have always been very flexible.

Is that Coustic XM6 any good? I'm looking at a used PPI EPX-223, but if the COustic is any good, i might pick that up since it's new.

Does anybody know about THESE units? I know the Lanzar Optidrive amps are fairly nice, but I know nothing about their other units.
