clamped, 2k+ is well within the price range but how many amps are clamped or have been shown clamped? until SMD comes out with his AD1 toy, clamping is just figurative as you can get a super clipped signal to clamp 3kW.

the vfl 4480 is better for the money and will do closer to what you want power wise

This is true. The Rubicon can be found for 300 but after shipping would be more, yes 2k clamped can be had. The vvme might clamp the same as AP but I would never want one and would never recommend a AP, HiFi etc... Out of then options I'll still go with the VFL and spend the extra 20 that's shipped for a quality amp and power
