Good mid-bass speakers?

I'm kind of new to car audio so i don't really know what I'm looking for. For a long time my friend has been telling me to get rid of all bass in your speakers and maximize bass in my sub for the best sound. But I kind of like it when the speakers are putting out bass too, as long as they sound clear, cause when they put out some bass the music has more impact and its more of a surround sound feel. I'm guessing this is called mid-bass? So who makes some good speakers that can take some heat in the mid-bass department (if i'm using that term correctly) but still stay crisp and clear?

I'm open to anything, but to give you a direction I'll say components.

I have a nice set of mids and some x overs for sale. You can find a set of tweeters and have a full comp set for a nice price

Lots of great component systems out there that provide good midbass. You could spend days reading about it.

Take note of the models that look promising to you and come back here to get specific opinions. As it stands, your question is VERY open ended. You're not likely to get any solid advice like this.
