good match or not?

MY friend is going for probably an SPL setup. He isnt really into audio too much he just told me he wanted a "system" which includes an amp sub and cd player. He doesnt want anything AMAZING, so this is what i suggested and i think he is ordering tonight so i would like to see what you guys think.

15" Type R (box is undecided) $200 new

PA 1800db $200 new

4ga stinger wiring kit ? prolly $50

Pioneer DEH-P4900I $179

I told him i would install all of it for free and would run down to BB with him this weekend to pick up the HU and wires and go ahead and install the cd player and wire this weekend so when the amp and sub arrive i can hook it up in 3 seconds. Is there anything you would recomend differnetly just for a daily driver?

id go with the deh-7800MP for the same price, on woofersetc.com -- and that 15" type r, thats cheap for brand new. i see them in the mid 200 range. and id opt for a 2 ga kit. leave room for an upgrade without the hassle of running a new power wire. pain in the ***. i have to change out my 4 ga for a 2 ga this weekend. im not looking forward to it

what size amp are you running? I dont think this guy will ever upgrade from 1100rms@ 2ohm and if he does ill make sure he gets a dual 2ohm sub so it can be wired to 1 ohm and send it more power. 2 ga. would be a lot harder to run that 4ga. would anyways. Thank you for the advice on the HU aswell, but he has a $500 best buy gift card he wants to use. we are gunna go browse through BB this weekend and ill help him pick out a good HU i just dont think he needs anything better because im pretty sure he isnt gunna change his system around much

i think it will work fine for what he wants. are you just gonna go in a pre-fab box? and i think you shold be good with 4 guage. but i definately wouldnt do it for free, dude hes got a 500$ bb card, at least get a cd or something. but other then that sounds good to me

well i might ask him for a little something somethin at best buy just cuz he has that huge amount of money on his card. i will either make a sealed box for him, or attempt my first ported box, or go up to the local audio shop and get a ported box because they build them to specs. I think i will go ahead and build a good sealed box for him and if he wants it to be louder iwill take him to the local audio shop

yeah i think if he is just looking for a bsaic system, with some bass, that sealed would do him good.
