good heavy metal subs

a microphone that can pick up freq under 63 hz i yet to be found
but still, sounded tight as fleas anus...
is that true? Not the insect anus part....

If so, interesting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

with metal, your dealing with rapid bass drum kicks (mostly)

so i would look for some thing with a stiff suspension

the size of the driver doesnt play a huge role in this situation...i have heard 8s, 10s, 12s, 15s, and 18s on metal

if you can design a box around what you want, almost ANY driver will work

lawl

my Atomic AP/SPL 10s did very well on metal and could still keep up with any rap song i played

the motors are f/s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You should re-word that to say camera microphones. MY RTA's mic certainly reads below 63hz, as does any mic used for SPL competition etc. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

pretty much any woofer out there.. take your pick..
i wouldn't exactly say that. i didn't expect that kind of answer out of you. lol

i had a Treo SSi 10 and went to a Dayton Reference HO 10. and i listen to rock/metal. the Treo SSi sucked big time for metal. it was very bottom heavy and sounded sloppy on double bass drum. it also sounded bad with most upper bass guitar notes(well the upper notes that should still be in the sub-bass region).

the Dayton HO sounds very tight and actually hits harder. it sounds much cleaner and not one bit sloppy on either double bass or bass guitar. it plays much flatter which to me seems better for rock or metal.

for rap or hip hop a more bottom heavy sub could be recommended, but for rock or metal i would want a sub that will play all the frequencies very well, not just 30-40hz.

for example, people consider Harvest from Opeth a good SQ song. when i played it with the treo sub it sounded horrible, it actually sounded better when i turned the sub off. now with the Dayton HO i can see why people call Harvest a good song for SQ. i couldn't stand listening to that song with the Treo at all.

EDIT: after looking at what you are after, i might still recommend the Daytons. but you might need at least 2 or 3 to get something flexing like in that vid. i don't think they would take more than 750watts a piece though. they are rated at 600rms. they are very efficient though. i have a single one on 400 watts rms and it's all i think is needed to listen to metal as it was intended to be heard.

offcourse.... my typing proceeded my thinking...

what i meant was, there is yet to be a microphone on a handheld camera that picks up the frequencies usually used on subwoofer videos...

offcourse, there are exceptions, but then we are talking about cameras in excess of 50 grand...
