You can search the iPod from the headunit. Everything from randomize, to picking a playlist, artist, what ever. All can be done through the headunit.I'm just going to have to sod it and go with the 9887, being active out of the box is alot more important than the inputs to be fair. Just one question, when the ipod is connected to it can you still scroll through the ipod as i doubt you will be able to actually search for a song on the headunit.
Separate.Irl go with the 9887 then, does it come with the ipod cable or do you have the buy it separate?
HahahaThe 9965 has the color Bio-Lite display, a 24 bit Burr Brown DAC, DVD capabilities, built in HD radio, and it's a dead head. Rumor has it that the EQ has 9 bands when it's in 3 way network mode too. I have never had anyone verify that and Crutchfield doesn't specify anything other than what Bass Engine Pro offers.
