Good headunit for running active?

How about the 9886 i just looked and that has a USB input but can you put active out of the box?

9886 is only active able with imprint, it only has a high pass crossover and a subwoofer curve filter. Its a basic entry level deck I ran one.for a couple of years.

I'm just going to have to sod it and go with the 9887, being active out of the box is alot more important than the inputs to be fair. Just one question, when the ipod is connected to it can you still scroll through the ipod as i doubt you will be able to actually search for a song on the headunit.

You can search the iPod from the headunit. Everything from randomize, to picking a playlist, artist, what ever. All can be done through the headunit.

I'm not going to replace my 9855 until it dies... unless I can somehow come up with a killer deal on a 9965 that I cannot resist. I have 2 in my vehicles... One I may have to send in for blown outs thou... I have been looking for a 9965 and started a thread here about the differences with the 2 but haven't gotten any replies...

The 9965 has the color Bio-Lite display, a 24 bit Burr Brown DAC, DVD capabilities, built in HD radio, and it's a dead head. Rumor has it that the EQ has 9 bands when it's in 3 way network mode too. I have never had anyone verify that and Crutchfield doesn't specify anything other than what Bass Engine Pro offers.

Dude is pretty set on Alpine I guess. He did state pref Alpine, but doesn't have to be.

IMO, the end all be all for what you're after has already been mentioned, the Eclipse 7100/7200.

Can i use this Alpine - AUX in Cables - KCA-235B aswell as the ipod connector?
