good drum machine?

dude man you gotta sound card? just do stuff through the computer....

some prgrams I use are

- fruityloops

- jeskola buzz

- reason 2

...all availabe to download...

What kind of sound card do I need? I just have what came with my computer; some polk audio speakers and if I have a soundcard I'm not sure really sure. Let me know what I'd need. Thanks.

if you got some speakers hooked up, you most-definitely do. HOwever alotta people say that stock sound cards are bad or whatever. If you're not trying to do a lotta recording into the computer, I say you all good. If those aren't good speakers (in terms of bass/treble), you probably just wanna do stuff through some pretty good headphones.

hopefully you gotta good computer too. reason takes a lotta processing power/speed/memory to run. then fruity loops, then jeskola buzz at the bottom.

jeskola buzz: buzzmachines.com

fruity loops: fruityloops.com? find the full version on kazaa; same with reason.

fruityloops is probably the best/easiest for "makin beats" but I think they're all "electronic"-music oriented. You just gotta adapt to em and find some good samples of instruments (especially drums for some beat-makin).

fruity loops 4, reason, recycle (good for drum loop editing), cubase, and logic are what I use. Ive been producing for about 5 years now.

fruity loops is a good beginner program. its cheap, eazy to use, and you can make it sound professional if you know what youre doing.

Well I got FL Studio 4 but I'm having a little trouble. How do you get other sounds I guess you would call it? Best I can get is some techno sounding stuff.

u just using the samples that came with the program or are you messing with the synths and other stuff too? Best thing to do is to do a little research and learn what everything does, then after that just start messing around with everything to can. Also, just try loading a sample into a sampler and tweak it. You'd be surprised what you can get out of just a simple snare sample.
