Good deck for $75-$150 price range ??

My cousin has had his JVC for about 2 years now, no problems whatsoever. He even dropped it couple times while taking the faceplate off.

If you really want to be sure, just grab the CDE-123. Or one of the X395, 595, or 695.

the rear connectivity option looks good, id use that for my ipod and to charge my iphone so i dont have the wire sticking out front of the deck looking messy and in the way. and id use the front port to connect a mini flash drive to hold more music i like things to look neat, if having the option to keep the wire in the back of the deck out of sight id rather do that

i just always thought that kenwood kinda ****** is all, im going on reference to home stereo system recievers. pioneer ones always seemed good, but you get what you pay for. jve would probably be my last pick because like i said i had a home stereo reciever from them and the cd player and buttons stopped working on them after a while

i may go with that alpine, my only concerns are that the preamps are only 18 watts while most of the other ones are 50 watts rms. will that make any difference or it doesnt matter ???

all the reviews ive read so far just say that its hard to use, but im usualy good with learning fast with stuff like that

well most people run an external amp for door speaker setups. so the internal amp wouldnt matter. If you can install a head unit, you can most likely install door speakers and an amp to them, its not hard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There are two different wattage numbers there.

The 18W RMS is the average output, this is the number you should use to compare headunits, as most will have a peak of 50W. This number however should not be used to gauge one stereo over another.

Even that 18W number is probably lower as the head unit just doesn't have enough juice to give your speakers a lot of power.

If you want more power, you will have to at least get the Alpine Power Pack to boost it to 45RMS or an external amplifier.
