alpine 9886 and my ipod

ok i just bought a vehicle with the cda-9886 it has usb and i guess i can buy another cable for ipod.my question is do i need the other cable or can i use the usb?

btw this is MY first ipod even though there is 6 of them in the house lol and I've never hooked one up in the car.yes im old school and ran my changer outside when running in the lanes.or hold the deck in hand.

yes i am a noob to the ipod I only ever used them the get on the net and that was it

it should work...

A usb will not work, but you should be able to plug it into a 3.5mm line if it has an aux port... just have to control it using your phone
