Think I might take my chances. I'll run it at 2ohm and keep the voltage up. Subs will be sold. Hopefully I can get enough out of those to have my opti 4k repaired. We'll see if it all works out or goes up in smoke and wastes more money. Lol

Ya those amps Ive read of good and bad,,Subs???I didnt even like my SA series..Box??Prfab or ?Wiring?who knows..You can find a hella amp for 300 bones..What 8s is he running and ohm load?

Owned 3 CT amps. All still going & never one issue. 900.1 1400.1 2200.1

I have the same input on my American Bass 4480.1ds VFLs..People talk BS about them,but all 4 of mine as well as the 26801d, and the 1504 Ive had all work and slamm just fine for me..Never any issues.Ill still buy AB amps If I need one

I hear ya. I bought my amps before I was aware of the issues going on with CT. But they work flawless and no issues. Can you strap those 4480's ?

Hmm Not sure.. Ill have to look..I am going to be using a MaxLink 100 for one control knob on all four..One for ea xfl 12 in a wall (building now)

FETs... I've tested them all, about 8 need replaced. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Not strapable..Have Gain match or use something like MaxLink 100,Or?

Id at least go take a look at everything..Take a DMM and check the subs..He may have it in operation?I always had an amp in operation when selling local and brought a back up to put in place on the way home.

Thank you for reminding me about dmm... We're visiting family out of town and would have forgot to bring one. See if my ladies dad has one.

I don't think he has a way to test amp and unfortunately I don't in this ride either. I won't buy unless he can hook it up though.

About all you can do in that situation is use the car battery for power source, power up for quick function(power up,and take chance it works)..Other than that if there is time..car battery..Ipod/Smart phone with to rcas,and amp to subs wired for full function..??PITA, but??
