I'm in the process of building the most kickass system I have ever created.. why stop at awesome subs and amps? I want to replace my Pioneer P6300 with something better. Budget for a CD-Player is $800.

Looking heavily at the Premier DEHP940MP and the Alpine CDA-7897/9815 HU's.

I want good pre-outs, motorized face, fast MP3 search time, SQ/Audio adjustments and eye candy is also a plus.

Is there a site where I can compare these head-to-head? Which is the greatest bang for the buck, and/or which would you rather have (and reasons why)?

Thanks!!!

well, if your HU budget is 800$, then why settle for the 7897? you can buy the 7998 for under 600$ all over the net, and it ups the sq due to a lack of int. amp. i don't know how the rest of the market compares, but the preouts on the 7998 seem to be top notch. and with the 200$ you have left in your budget you can invest in an external amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i'm a genius i know. but, if your partial to the pioneer then go for it. i don't know much about them, but i have a 7998 and i love it. that's my 2 cents //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

p.s. the alpine is definately eye candy... nothing better than starting up the car and watching it come out of the dash... never gets old //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Eclipse. Go buy one. I have an alpine 7893 which is supposed to have good sound but I helped install an eclipse deck for my friend (the deck was about 3 years old)

I was blown away by the eclipse and I now wish I had bought an eclipse over my alpine....
