Hi all, I'm very new to the scene both on and off the boards. I am looking for a good book or a way to start to help me understand car audio better becuase I want to hook up my 2001 Tahoe and try to save money at the same time by being able to know some things on my own.. thanks a lot.

Yeah I know there is a TON more good info here, I just want something that is more structured seeing I want to install a system in as short time as possible. I'm sure when my post count reaches new heights I will be a lot well off but im looking for a system in the next month or so.

Definitely start a thread with your goals and budget like PaulD said. Try to list things like:

Car

space available (ft^3, and depth if you have a limited amount)

Audio preference (want to get loud, want to have great sound quality, a little of both?)

size, amount of subs you prefer

preference on type of box (disregard this if you don't know the diff types of boxes)

budget

what kind of music you listen to

Speaker preferences (do like loud clean high's, want a lot of midbass, ect)

if you have heard other peoples stereos (what speakers/subs, what do you want in comparison)

I think that's about it, their should be plenty of people here that could help you based on the info you give.
