Good amp to push JL 12w7

Hello,

I have a 12 W7 sub. I was wondering whats a good amp to push the sub. I know JL 1000/1 amp but dont think i can spend 1000 bucks on an amp right now. If you have 12w7 with an amp please tell me how it sounds and if you recommend it. Thanks,

if u get it off ebay, that amp is around 550-600, but if u just want about 1000 watts, there are plenty out there.

for 400bucks you could get a rf t10001bd on ebay...

I would get the rf over the jl any day of the week

according to birthsheets the rf should put out the power you need at 3ohms

but the x600.1 or the x1200.1 would be great choices too.

tantrum 1200.1, xenon 1200.1, orion 2500d, or the jl 1000/1 would be in my top pick.

i personally used the tantrum, and now use the 2500d and both will push the sub to its full potential.

a t10001bd will barely power it. only does 500@4 ohms/750@2 ohm, so it will probably only see about 600 watts and a 12w7 can take 1200 watts no problem.

I'm running the 500/1 and think that it sounds pretty good on the 12w7 in a ported box.

It's a little under the rms of 750 that is reccommended but again it sounds fine to me and gets plenty loud without any problems

does 1500 x 1 at 1 ohm and 750 at 2 ohms. so it might do ya some good at 3. they are also pretty underrated.
