Good amp for mids and highs?

I am getting ready to order a Crunch GP3000D-Pro for the subs and considered their GP4150 as a cheap temp solution for the mids/highs, but I am afraid it will sound like crap and I am not a big fan of temp solutions either. Any ideas? Looking to stay under $300 shipped, well under 300 if possible.

As for the speakers, I will be running MB Quart QSC216 separates up front and stock separates (Alpine) in the rear all off the four channel.

HU is stock NAV system.

Thanks,

ryan

The GP4150 amplfier is a great sounding amplifier.

Crunch for many years was always average quality and just ok for SQ.

When we bought Crunch, the first thing we did was have the same engineer (the original hifonics engineer for 20 years) that designed Hifonics completely revamp the line based on his 25 years of high end experience.

Of course the parts used are less expensive and the pcb is not as high end but the actual design and engineering of the board layout is fantastic.

Acura is better then Honda but that doesn't make Honda bad.

Lexus is better then Toyota but that doesn't make Toyota bad.

Because you have MBQ speakers, I'll let you know that there is a new line of MBQ Discus amplifiers coming out very soon (3 weeks) that I think would be perfect for your speakers.

2 two-channels (2 x 80 / 2 x 150)

4 four-channels (4 x 50 / 4 x 125)

1 A/B Class mono amp (1 x 1000 RMS)

2 D-Class mono amps ( 1 x 1500 RMS / 1 x 2000 RMS)

I hope this helps

i might use a GP 2350 over the gp 4150 for a few extra watts , A FEW

but if it has to be a 4 ch and not a 2 ch than gp4150

i have both

That's funny, I was just looking at the 2350 for the fronts. Using the /2 rule, if that is in fact the way you break down Crunch's "dynamic musis watts" into RMS, then looks like the 2350 should put out roughly 175*2 at 4 ohms and I guess the 4150 is only 75w*4....does this sound right? If I get the 2350, I will probably get a 2150 for the rears. Anyone know if the 2350 has RCA outs on it?

I would not mind going Quart, but I am slated to get it all installed next Friday...so, I want to have it sooner. Thanks for the recommendations and quick replies though;)

i have all these amps at my shop

IIRC i am just going by fusing alone off memory the gp4150 i think is 2 x 30 amp blade fuse and the gp2350 is 2 x 40 amp blade fuse

and actually the foot print of the gp 2350 is smaller than the gp4150

so takes up less space makes more watts

no brainer
