good 6x8/5x7 speakers

any recommendations? Im about to pull the trigger on some polk audio db571's. ive heard their 6x9's against other brands (including kicker and alpine) and i liked the them best. im hoping their 5x7's are similar.

also this is for middle of the line to lower end speakers as i most likely will not run an amp to them. my headunit will do all work. it gives 22 rms to 4 channels, 50 max. if i decide they're too quiet i may amp them in the future.

I have some nice Soundstream gear for sale. The 6x9's come with seprate xover, so you can go active or passive. and I have some components.

So are you asking about 6x8/5x7 speakers or about 6x9 speakers? A big difference could be there. Also, component or coaxials?

For coaxial 6x8 speakers, I think Alpine Type R is the best there is for $150, and probably overall. 100watts RMS rating on each side, muscular sounding midrange and midbass, and tweeters are smooth without being fatiguing. For components, I would probably get a 6-1/2 inch component speakers with a 6x8 adapter. 6x8 component selection is kind of limited IMHO, unless you really want to use JBL or Infinity products.
