golf trunk build in

So I got my golf and I'm going to be doing a trunk build in today. I'll be using every think that's not a speaker in my sig in the trunk, eqs, crossover, and three amps.

Okay, I was thinking about it and I have two options doing this build in. Either way, I'm going to be fiberglassing sub enclosures and the cover for the eqs and crossover

1) Make false walls about three inches in from the side but all the way in the back. Then I can add spacers and drop the amps into the walls to make them flush. Then cut the corners out for more room on the 2x 10" soloarics fiberglass enclosure which I'd have to glass the front and a pod in the back.

2) Make walls on the outmost part of the trunk. Then mount the amps and fiberglass amp "pods". I can then place the two 10" speakers in the corners of the trunk and just glass the front of the pods.

What would you all do?

I'll post a picture of what I mean when I get to work.

Well the amps will be flush behind the pod in number two.....

I like one, like you, because I think it will look cleaner. However, the sub box will be a royal pain in the ***.

I like two because it gives me a little bit more trunk room and probably looks "cooler".

I just put my subs in the back of my trunk and the amps on top and viola! I have room for golf clubs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This is my old design that i was going to use before i decided to mount my amps under my front seats in my Mazda 3. I know its a wood design but to give you an idea of something you could do, an idea to work with. Instead of having the amps in a row you could try diagonal designs and in the "wedge" where the subs would be, you could false your xovers if your using them.

Good luck, your ideas are pimp ssa too. Id go with numbero Uno.

I'm going with number one. I have one side and the back wood-work done. Tomorrow I'm making the crossover rack and going to find dimensions for the second amp. I'll paint something up now and try to get pictures tomorrow.

I can't false floor 'cause I'm trying to get as much useable hatch as possible. The way it is, I have room for one large compter laying down after all is said and one.

Well, I kinda went with both combined a little actually, no false walls and instead a mdf guide around the amps. Then everything will be fiberglassed in and smooth. The picture will look wierd but the subs, eqs, and small amp will ALL be fiberglassed into place. I hope the picture explains it better than I can.
