Hello all, I just finished up my 4th vehicle's complete sound system overhaul. the Install was done in a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. Complete with sound deadener. Polk DB 6.5" Comps front and rear. kicker cvr subs. amp. and the alpine power pack with a 9886 deck.
The sound system sounds PHENOMENAL> by far the best setup in any of my vehicles so far. granted i did drop almost 1500 into the whole thing. but it's no show car by any means. but the only part i lacked on my install was..... gold plated spade connectors for when i mounted the speaker wires to and fro into the crossovers. I did get very slight clipping here and there. only during soft parts of songs. which is weird. and it sounds like it's coming from the woofers and not the tweeters. maybe it's just so high on the tweeters i don't notice the clip. but anywho i just used the regular spade connectors for any other eletrical connection. and it's only at high volumes it clips. could these not being gold be a cause for the clipping?
