hell yeah, storms are firing up to the west of me. They look like they are going to form a squall line, but as of right now they almost look like they could be supercells developing along the line. It's dark so no chasing them, but it might get interesting at least.

me too man. I live in missouri and the ingredients are setting up perfectly. They are saying it is the highest risk this year, but i don't know, last week we had a pretty bad outbreak and had a tornado warning here. I didn't get to chase because i was busy though. I did see a funnel cloud though which is always nice.
I can't wait til tomorrow!

I know in SW MO we got hit pretty hard these past couple weeks. I don't remember what day it was but the really bad lightning storm that came in fried my modem and killed 3 heifers at my dad's work from lighting strikes. I'm hoping something boils up tonight to break up the hot weather.

oh we get a rental car when we go!! hahaha..

Just got back... wasn't to great of a day, we were out by the Peoria area for a good part of the day. Not to much circulation goin on there though. We did see some pretty bad asz weather though... Had to pull over to watch one of em pass us because it was raining to hard. winds had to be AT LEAST 60MPH.... it was pretty cool. had a lightning strike within 50yds of the car.

after that, we decided to go Northwest towards Galesburg I believe it was. There was a tornado warning up there for quite a while... got there....but by that time EVERYTHING was rain wrapped, we couldn't see more than 200yds in the bad spots... saw a TON of tree branches down. They were very windy storms.

Figures though...as it got later, all the Tornado warnings were down south (NOT where they had the Moderate out for) and it was to late by that time.

It was fun, but... 90% of the time you're not gonna see a tornado...

I was with a Grad from Valparaiso with a major in meteorology... him and I have been chasing for 8+ years now. numbers to call in tornado's are very easily accessible.

regardless.. its fun, its another hobby, and i don't think if we got rolled by one that it would just be sitting on top of us whiile paramedics got there 30+ min. later

there is a moderate risk out tomorrow (for those that know what it is, if not... it means there's going to be big storms all over the area)... new model comes out in 30 min.... already a tornado spotted in Wisc. a few min. ago. things are looking really good.

we are leavin at 9 and are trying to get to the IL/IA border by about 2-3

found some pretty cool storms, all of them were rain wrapped though... none of the ones we were on had much rotation... all the tornado warnings were on the IL/WI border, or down in Southern IL. but the predictions were right where we were...they just didnt circulate
