I tried to find some info on this war between Canada and the States and I can't find anything on it. You have a link or was this just made up in your head??
2 12" Type Rs, hifonics 1600watt amp. That should be about 400-500. Then the rest you can spend on a box, wires, and install. With the left overs I would upgrade the deck. GL
I know you are probably itching to go out and get bumping now but if you can spend a few weeks searching around here see what others are talking about and go from there.
I think type rs are the best beginner choice out there. For there price you get a decently loud subwoofer and still get a lot of sound quality. I have six of them and love them. You can get them on ebay for 100-130 shipped which I would consider a great price for what you get.
^MAW over Argh for the win. that is if budget allows. Rs are decent for the price and will be nice for a beginner but you will be left wanting more later. get somethin mean now and tone it down until you want more. then crank it and save money.
id also avoid typers....it is a good sub but...not for SQ..get some Mb quarts or jbl power series..i think i remember seeing a Mb quart reference driver on sale somewhere in the states..they were 99$ a pop..had one..paid over 300$ for and still thouhgt it was worth the money(prices in my country are a lot different then the states).....or lets say a hifonics zeus..go ported with it, and give it a good 500+...goes qualuity loud...
