Going through fuses

So recently, I've been going through fuses like no other.

Setup is in my sig, I had some Knu inline fuse holder w/ like some stupid 30a fuse, and it blew, so i replaced it w/ a 60a, and it blew, and then another 60a, and it blew. I'm running 4 awg, and I know the fuse amperage needs to be higher, but would I go through this many fuses if that was the problem? I replaced my fuse twice, and only after I would be bumping a song for maybe 5-10 seconds? I tried different songs as well, and it still fawked up.

My setup has been fine since I first got it in like october or something, I've had the same amp, and same power, and same fuse since then. Only thing that's changed recently is the sub, I don't know whats magically going wrong now to make me go through a ton of fuses.

Simple... you are drawing more current //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The 1500D can draw around 170 amps at full tilt @ 1 ohm... around 200 amps at 0.5 ohms. That tiny fuse won't cut it if you are remotely pushing it.

is the new sub wired at the same load as the old was?

Yes

The only reason that I havn't upgraded my wire yet, is at night I have my lights on, and when I'm idle in a parking lot (volume on HU at 0), I push on the break, and all my dash lights dim for .5 seconds, then come back. lol.

Ima get a bigger fuse holder soon, the first fuse was supposed to be temporary, but it never blew so I didn't worry about changing it.

Some local kid said run it through my fusebox? And then I proceeded to slap him, because I'd rather blow one fuse that goes straight from my amp to my batt, than my whole box.

About to order an ANL inline fuse holder rated @ 200a.
