Going from 15"s to 18"s

Not to thread jack, but i'm in the same situation..
My setups just not getting loud enough for me and wondering if its worth it to get 18's

not a bad idea but u wont get full potential from them... 15's can be just as loud... now if u get rid of the 2nd row... ur in business

well i can tell u.. . you really dont have enough room for 18's in ur truck...i went from 2 MT 18's in the biggest box i could fit in there tuned 35hz on a VFL400.1 to 2 custom built 15's in 3.75 per tuned 32hz on a mojo 4kw.. and the 15's were louder... louder to the ear and louder on the meter.. the 18's iirc did 149ish and the 15's did 150.8.. really any 18 out there if ur going for daily beater and not a one note wonder needs 7cubes to get close to full potential

You sure? I can fit about 10 cubes in the back of my explorer

thought i read that the 18" mt likes a smaller box?? around 6 cubes?

Mine is roughly at 6.8 and kills the lows off one sundown 1500

well the more power u have on the sub the smaller the box would need to be.. ... have u ever had ur MT in anything else other then 6.8 .? and if its 6.8 after displacment, that wouldnt be to bad but he is talkin bout putting them in5 cubes... ... and u can get more then 10 cubes out of a xplorer
