Going from 15"s to 18"s

Well I am just doing a direct swap out. Keeping same everything just going from 15" BL's to 18" BL's same amount of power eletrical ect. What kinda differences should I expect? Think it will be any louder on the mic? Currently I can burp a 147.9 Think they 18"s can gain me 2db to get 150?

You shouldnt see much difference, maybe a db.

louder, take up more room, and depending on box tuning better low end response.

Most of the time the limiting factor for your setup is the enclosure, or even the vehicle itself. If you already have two 15's or one 15, going to an 18 wont make that much of a difference. UNLESS, you drastically change your setup in some manner such as more power, larger or better designed enclosure, or even more surface area.

Ya its gonna be about 1000 watts more power. My old box was tuned to 34hz but peaked at 48hz. Lots of people said that it was more like a prefab box. It was built by a local shop.

well i can tell u.. . you really dont have enough room for 18's in ur truck...i went from 2 MT 18's in the biggest box i could fit in there tuned 35hz on a VFL400.1 to 2 custom built 15's in 3.75 per tuned 32hz on a mojo 4kw.. and the 15's were louder... louder to the ear and louder on the meter.. the 18's iirc did 149ish and the 15's did 150.8.. really any 18 out there if ur going for daily beater and not a one note wonder needs 7cubes to get close to full potential
