Going from 12idmaxv3 to 2 6x9s

I have just been throwing the idea around tonight to sell my current subwoofer setup in order to run two 6x9" subwoofers in the rear deck. I would first try a few layers of damplifier pro on the rear deck and if i still had flexing, i would just do a baffle for them. Thinking about Tang Band, but if there are other suggestions i am totally open. Maybe some 6x9s that can handle a bit more power.

I will be switching from my single 12"idmaxv3d2 running off my pa1800db @ 1ohm sealed. I love the thing, but would like to see if i can run "subless" in a way. I dont want to take up any space in the trunk, so i will most likely hide the amps.

I like honestly love everything about the 12"idmax the way i have. Good output and great SQ. Will some 6x9"s with 100rms a piece just be awful?

I would love to maybe run some 8"s or 10"s in an IB in the rear deck, but i dont have a tool to cut my rear deck with, and honestly might not want to permanently cut up my car. I dont have any welding equip. so i wouldnt be able to replace anything i cut...

Maybe with a double 1/2" baffle i would be able to fit 8"s???? Anyone have suggestions i was just throwing the idea around because i like the idea of not having anything in the trunk.

well i would have to completely seal off my trunk and i dont really want to have to go through all of that trouble. I just imagine running IB through the rear deck would be a lot easier. Maybe trade the MAX for some ID8s i just dont know if 1" baffle is enough to clear the 6x9" oval cutout.

I've got two id10 v3 d4s I'd trade you if you're interested. They are in excellent condition. LMK I could add a little cash if needed for shipping. I'm trying to upgrade

I can't imagine that sub is taking up a ton of room in your trunk as they don't call for huge boxes. Why do you need the space? Having a kid? I have 2 12's in my car and plenty of space to fit the stroller and groceries. You just have to be creative with the box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would do IB if you want to save space. If you don't want to take that time to do that, then why take time to do anything? It isn't that hard. Talk to James Bang as he is the resident IB master, or REQ. I would go that route if dead set on saving space.

I wouldn't do the 6x9's, as you will miss the shit out of the output of the max. Will never sound the way you want it too, no matter how well you deaden your rear deck. Stick with the sub and come up with something. Maybe a fiberglass enclosure on the side of the trunk?

ok guys thanks for the input. I just wanted to change things up. Haha I am 17y/o i sure as hell hope i am not having any kids.

IB would be great i just dont know how to incorporate it in my car. I do not want to do any permanent cutting or anything really. I want to be able to return the car to stock if i ever choose to.
