Going for a bass racer with 8s, which ones do you think....

Im lookin at the cvr or comp 8" (both kicker), tangband 8"s, p18"s (rf), id8"

And theres a special on the rf 8"s where you can get 2 for $80

ID 8" is on sale as well.

Also I want to keep this as cheap as possible, cuz Ill have to buy an amp as well. I may end up upgrading to 10s, depends on the space I have that Ill measure tomorrow. Im thinking of 8 8"s right now, mayyybe 6, but at least 4.

Right now, Im leaning towards the cvr 8"s.

i had one cvr 8 in my rear deck of my old car for a little while and it got fairly loud for 150 watts

Don't discount the RL-i, they seem to have a good punch.

if u do 8's u have to put them in a very high efficient box

to be honset a 4th order bandpass is not going to do the job unless u build a really large ported area andtune it to around 100+hz or so and then have them in very small sealed chambers

but a 6th order will be better cuz u can tune one of the ports to 100hz and the other to 60hz and have small chambers or the smallest the subs recommend

not really...

8 8's tuned to 34hz, with 1kw would turn 46's in bassrace in one of the installs done down here.. peaking @ 42hz..

and my 16, with 3600 watts, would do 51's in bass race, peaking at 39hz...

btnh, I know somebody that has a bunch of RE 8's... they were the 2nd loudest woofers we had @ the great 8 challenge... catch me on AIM and I'll fill you in...
