Going active with Crystal SSCS6's, 90X4, advice??

I'm considering ditching the passive crossovers altogether for my Crystals, and just running them active. My 5 channel does 90X4 + 300X1 @12V.

I've searched for threads about people going active with their Crystals, and didn't find much out of four pages of threads.

As far as the gain settings go on the amp, will I need to turn them all the way down?

I've got an Alpine CDA 7998 HU, so I'll be able to tweek and adjust from my deck.

If anyone's got active w/ their Crystals, please share your experience in doing so.
