Goin 4-up, great SQ while goin low?

I love the SQ of my Eclipse 8200, however I just need more bass. I was looking to get 4 SQ subwoofers and put them, sealed, in the 4.5 cube box I built. I'd be giving anywhere between 1500-2000w RMS depending on the VC setup of the subs.

What I'm wondering is which size woofer will have great SQ while still being able to hit the low notes very well. I was looking at the AA Assasin 8 or 10. I keep hearing how great the 8 is at producing nice sound quality, but how able is it to hit the low frequencies? How bout the 10?

I'm looking to stay around $350 for the woofers, so any other suggestions would be great.

Yes. That's why I was leaning towards the AA, because I see them recommended all the time and they're cheap. however, im open to all suggestions

8's simply have a hard time hitting lower lows with authority. The lower the note, the more displacement needed to reproduce the note with the same authority. Therefore, yes 10's would certainly be better choices than 8's, if your concern is low frequency extension. Will four 8's hit 20hz? Certainly, but not as loudly as would four 10's (all else the same). Your already built box's specs should dictate which size you go with (based on space needed per woofer).

The 10's require .7 cubes, and putting it in a slightly (~.2) oversized box would only reinforce the lowend more.

So 4 10" woofers in 1 cube each should sound pretty bad-***, no?

Are there any other 10" subs around $70 that I should be looking at vs the AAA's?

My G/F loves the AA Assasins we put in her Kia Sportage.She's got two 10"s in a 2ft^3 sealed box I built fo her and it sounds excellent....lovely SQ and get's decently loud for two 10"s in a sealed enclosure.....I told her as soon as she saves up for a better amp with SSF on it I will buy her two more 10" Assasins and build a 3.5-4ft^3 ported box tuned to 32 Hz.....I might just get her 4 12" Assasins though unless she wants some arsenals....

For your application I'd go with the Arsenals if you want better low end but those assasins do have a good low end.
