godda*n ebay/paypal! now I am down 625 bucks and an iphone!

I m not sure what to do.

I bought a brand new iphone 3gs and then sold it on ebay to make some profit.

I sold it for 625 bucks, and shipped it via usps priority and i got a delivery confirmation paper as a proof.

The tracking nbr says it is been delivered but the buyer says nope he dont have the phone, wtf!?

Fortunately, paypal for some reason decided to release the money to me (I think cuz the item was delivered already) So I managed to get 625 bucks out of paypal acct into my bank account.

The buyer eventually filed a dispute against me.

Paypal opened up the case. I replied to the situation immediately. I even took a picture of the delivery confirmation paper and uploaded it on paypal website so that way I can protect myself.

BUT today paypal just closed the case and is in favor of the buyer so my account is at -625 right now. stupid part is that in the email, paypal says "if you have a proof of shipment, then you may appeal".. I am like what the hell? I already gave them a proof of shipment.

I am going to call them tomorrow. But was wondering if anyone ever experienced this?

I feel like I cant win in this situation. my iphone is gone and now they expect me to pay 625 bucks back??

close the account and open another.. don't deal with their shit.. Thats how the scammers do it so the good guys can do it too.. but see what paypal will do.. if they say no deal then do it.. change the info to bogus stuff before abandoning it

They prob auto decided his favor and they didn't even check documents you submitted.

Just show them that confirmation deal

They're almost always going to try to side with the buyer if at all possible. However, you've got a proof of delivery in your hands, so it's time for you to call bull shit on the buyer. How was it shipped? UPS...USPS...FedEX? Call them and get all available info. File a tracer or package intercept if you need to. As long as you can prove that the carrier delivered it, it is then their responsibility to cover whatever they ****ed up.

if you didn't use the shipping feature through paypal, you're pretty much screwed. even though you have shipped and have delivery confirmation paypal is still gonna dick over you b/c you didn't use them to ship out.

my gf got an account so more likely i ll just use her acct

but seriously, right now i m thinking i could just scam someone on ebay easily. I could just report to paypal that the item did not arrive (even if the trakcing # says so) and then get my money back.

did you keep the a record of the phones electronic serial number so you can report it stolen then that way it can't be activated, how about insurance on the package through the shipper

I highly doubt he could just close the account with an existing negative balance in it..lol

OP I suggest that you read paypal's monetary management terms, if they have one.

Then you can see if they have any say/leverage in attempting to collect your negative paypal balance or whether paypal can influence your credit score if they don't decide in your favor when you appeal and you just abandon the account.

If not, then I am wondering if it is going to hurt my credit score? If it wont, then f*uck it, I am using my girl's account from now and on.

i had all communication between me and a buyer, also had signiture confirmation from USPS that he got it. dude disputed it with paypal and paypal still gave him money and I was out of everything. I had to get a friends dad (lawyer) involved for me to get my money back.
