Mercury hasn't been the lower model than Ford. It has been Ford as the entry, than Mercury as the middle class and Lincoln as the luxury division.

The Corolla and RAV4 had a bigger decrease than the F150. I'm not saying thats irrelevant, but that it wasn't just trucks that took a hit.

nDeed. I haven't looked thoroughly myself, but I am willing to bet that the percentage of drops per genre aren't that different from one another.

Oh I am all for helping the American population with jobs and all. BUT when a crappy car company that makes non reliable cars and asks for had outs I laugh. If they were making good reliable cars that ran for years and years without having to have repairs done than I am all for helping them out. Today people are watching there money very cautiously and there not going to want to throw there money into a money pit like GM. But until I see a GM product that is as reliable as my civics than I don't want to hear it.

I have found in my experience that American cars are about as reliable as others given the same driver and maintenance records. Plus, I have found domestic cars far cheaper and far easier to repair.
