Glenn Beck

Ah yes, your true colors show through, again. When faced with the dilemma of admitting you were wrong, you instead choose the low road and go on the attack with name calling.
It's hopeless, he'll never be able to have adult arguments...never has been, never will be.

Removing the bill of rights from walls of local courthouses is a perfect example.
You mean the 10 Commandments, which I agree should not be in a government building. I'll bet you the same people defending the Commandments in that courthouse would shit a brick if something Islamic was on display in the same manner(I believe it was a several thousand pound stone/marble statue), and demand it be removed.

You misunderstood me. I was saying I think they dont harm anyone being there. If they want to place quotes from the qur'an on the wall, so long as they portray society's morals, Im fine with it. People get too caught up in the origin of the words, and place too little emphasis on the meaning of those words. Im not really a religious person, but I believe in many of the ideals the bible portrays.

Yes, I meant the 10 commandments. My bad.

Even though the statue was the optimy of what our judicial system stands for?
You mean epitome? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Anywho, here they are...why are numbers 1 though 4 important, and how does it describe what the judicial system stands for?

1. You shall have no other gods before me.

2. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Same here, I just don't see why they couldn't have used something else...some random quote from a famous writer, leader, or thinker that says basically the same thing without having to bring religion into it and having to worry about the origin of words.

I agree 1 through 4 aren't very meaningful in that context.

Same here, I just don't see why they couldn't have used something else...some random quote from a famous writer, leader, or thinker that says basically the same thing without having to bring religion into it and having to worry about the origin of words.
I think you and I are on the same page here. I look at it more as a skip 1 through 4 and get to the good stuff in 5 through 10. lol
I agree, if they had a quote from MLK or someone else that portrayed out judicial ideals better, Id be for placing that in a position of importance too/instead. I just dont feel threatened by having a Christian belief being quoted. But I can understand how it might bother a Muslim or Jew.
