Gezzer Newbi Needs Advise

I have an Accord that is now being shared with my seventeen year old son. I'd like to surprise him with more audio juice but fidelity is important to me. I have an Alpine V12 MRV F300 from a time long ago.

I'm thinking of upgrading the front and rear drivers and powering with the V12 and adding a subwoofer. We're both Bass players and require definition over one note boom. Ideally, I'd like the low frequencies to blend seamlessly yet provide some boom for my son. Is this even possible?

I'm looking for some product suggestions.

For such a low power amp (I beleive those were 4/3/2 switchable 50 watts a channel amps), id suggest something like a Mach 5 audio MAW-15 in a sealed enclosure. http://www.mach5audio.com

that way, its cheap and sounds pretty good.

I don't think I was clear in my post. I'm planning to use the Alpine amplifier to power the the front and rear speakers, not the sub
