Getting those last DBs

2 15s sealed in a small trunk and now you want to put them in a ported enclosure that will be half the airspace of what they need. To top it off, you dont have an amp with a proper subsonic filter so bye bye to subs when they play a 40hz or under note in your small ported box. People can get the same db level with an in a ported box on 1/3 the power.

Lol thats what i was waiting for, some one to say sell your subs:laugh:
Took longer than I figured it would. I'm happy where it is now It's deep clean can hit fast enough for rock and will keep a zippo from lighting just wanting to see if I could get some ideas on breaking 130 if not that's fine. Will be looking into porting and a subsonic filter.

Don't recall ever saying I was going to port with half the airspace that was needed just asked what it would sound like. half of 3 cu ft would be 1.5. I'm at 2.6. Also didn't say I would be using the amp without sub sonic filter just said thanks to C1500martin for pointing that out. Lots of assuming going on here look's like all those 160 db farts and sharts have hurt your brain some.

Kickers need 4.5 cubic feet if you go ported. The minimum specs the factory lists is basically has weak output in the lower frequencies. 2.6 is close to half of whats optimally needed per 15 in kicker. I wrote the d@mn post before it even updated with your power accoustic amp post so calm your tits fool. You would do better just using one of those 15s on a proper ported box.

And no an official meter will give you a lower score then any spl meter you buy. A proper termlab is a lot more harsh then a typical spl meter.

For all I know it could be my cheap db reader only getting to that and it's actually louder. Not many sound shops here in MS.
Yea if your using an app or something im sure its completely off i had one once and it was saying my zv4 was doing a 98-____- i was like yup this is wrong. Term lab or no spl reading, thats it. Ported on a better amp would be your best bet. But if your happy leave it as is. Also deaden trunk, flexing and rattling steals dbs

Didn't say what was optimal said min spec. The low end will sound worse but if I go with keeping height and width same and doing a two stage depth I should be able to get around 4. Also my **** are plenty calm there in my hands.

It's a scosche db car audio gauge. Never really trusted it. I tried an app and talking, radio, tv all locked at 90 I think it just depends on what your phone mic is capable of handling.
