Getting straight cuts

I'm having trouble getting-lined cuts for my boxes. Lowes or home depot doesn't cut them exactly to size like I need them, sometimes I have a 1/16" gap between the pieces when I put the box together. My question basically is how do I get perfect cuts?

Steady hand, and ALWAYS account for blade width...

With a skill saw? Get two clamps and a long level. Measure how far it is from the blade to the outside of the saw base. Usually it is 1 1/2 inches. Subtract that from your measurement and clamp the level there and use it as a saw guide.

I was going to do that but found out we didn't have any clamps. The cuts we bad.

Or spend some money.Table saw,guides,ect.

i bought a cheap table saw and it does pretty good, but still need to take time and measure it out, draw straight lines and like said above account for blade.

Other than a saw guide or table saw the only other way is to have spend 16 years with a saw in your hand like I have as a carpenter I think.
