will tuning the the boxs low make it play deeper notes my box now is tuned at 34hz i was thinking of tuning it around 25hz good or bad choice

you start losing sq around 38hz or so (box tuning). i don't think alot of song frequencies play that low (very few). not sure. but before you tune it, find out the frequency of songs so you kno where the notes drop off and you can tune above the drop-off point.

i've got mine in 4.5cf net each, ported @ 33hz, and i've pretty much ONLY got SQ at this point. Sub sounds fantastic, fast response, real punchy, but they're not even as loud as my alpine type-x's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

What in the world am i doing wrong here? They're supposed to be signicantly more efficient than the type-x's. In fact, the type-x's have a reputation for being abnormally inefficient speakers. I even checked my phasing with a 9v battery, and i know a quadruple checked it as i was installing them into the cabinet. And i tried switching phasing, as well, that made ALL bass disappear.
