getting sq out of a l7 15

i've got mine in 4.5cf net each, ported @ 33hz, and i've pretty much ONLY got SQ at this point. Sub sounds fantastic, fast response, real punchy, but they're not even as loud as my alpine type-x's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

What in the world am i doing wrong here? They're supposed to be signicantly more efficient than the type-x's. In fact, the type-x's have a reputation for being abnormally inefficient speakers. The x's were even tuned 3hz LOWER, and in a WAAAY smaller box... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I even checked my phasing with a 9v battery, and i know a quadruple checked it as i was installing them into the cabinet. And i tried switching phasing, as well, that made ALL bass disappear.
