Getting paid late

Have any of you guys had problems with your employer paying you late? I was supposed to get paid today, but it turns out I won't be getting a check until Monday. I can't wait until Monday and I need this check.

Aren't they in violation of some kind of law? Even if they aren't, there is no excuse for me not being paid today. What have you guys done/think I should do to solve this and get justice served?

I just found out that all my checks for the last year have been short .40 cents.

Needless to say I'm contacting Payroll today.

I had an employer pay late all the time. Sometimes up to 2 weeks. Needless to say, the business didn't last much longer after that.

they have like 90 days to give you your money i think

im still waiting on 2 checks worth over 900 for about the last 2 months

im sure you sign something saying you will get paid on a certain date every month...check with that

a lot of times companies can cut u a check in place of ur nomal payroll check but that might only apply if urs wasn't processed at all.

Actually, that is what should happen. I'm not in their payroll system right now so they've got me listed as a sub contractor in which they will cut me a live check.

This check is coming from a small company where we all know each other. I don't want to go to my HR lady and be all pissy unless I have to.

HA! I found it:

337.020 Time of payment of wages -- Exception.Every employer doing business in this state shall, as often as semimonthly, pay to each of

its employees all wages or salary earned to a day not more than eighteen (18) days prior to

the date of that payment. Any employee who is absent at the time fixed for payment, or

who, for any other reason, is not paid at that time, shall be paid thereafter at any time

upon six (6) days' demand. No employer subject to this section shall, by any means,

secure exemption from it. Every such employee shall have a right of action against any

such employer for the full amount of his wages due on each regular pay day. The

provisions of this section do not apply to those individuals defined in KRS

337.010(2)(a)2.

Well, I sure as hell wasn't absent to pick up my check and "No employer subject to this section shall, by any means, secure exemption from it."

I had an employer that used to do that all the time. I simply told them that if I can't get paid on time, don't depend on me to show up on time to work.
