To the OP, just go and do your time there. You most likely won't even get picked. Usually there are like 100 people all in a room sitting there doing nothing. I've been to jury duty twice, the first time I didn't get picked. The second time I got picked for an attempted murder trial. It lasted 2 hours. I got to go home after that. They even served us lunch both times. Your job can't postpone your employment due to jury duty. They'll likely hold a quick catch up course for you and let you test out.

I've been twice. First case was petty shoplifting and lasted an hour. The second one I was not chosen for.

The two times I have been summoned and shown up, they had about 25 people there, and we all go through an interview process. The first question they asked was do you think you can hear both sides of the story, see multiple pieces of evidence, and still be honest in your judgment? I said no the second time and went home and got ready for work.

ive been about 4 times and im only 23

worst thing you can do is not go

they will issue a warrant for you, they usually dont go after jury duty skippers but if your pulled over they will pick you up

more than likely you wont be chosen because of your age...I assume you are young also.

Your job cannot fire you for missing days via jury duty. If they do, let the court know, they fix it

American Civic Duties = Gay. Already bored. Atleast they have fast wireless/sugar-free cookies/disgusting coffee/lemonade... ohhh the compensation.

Easy, i got out of mine buy saying that i had final exams on that day for college and the professors do not allow you to miss or makeup the exam, and therefore i am unable to attend because it will effect my passing of the course.

If you have nothing better to do go for it it may be the most interesting thing you have done for a while it also gives you a great insight into the workings of the court you never know you might need that experience for yourself one day,they do pay as well not much but it is something,put you up in hotels if its a big case.
