Okay im def getting gta 4 on pc, but my pc is a dinosaur. Intel celeron, only holds 2gb tops, and i put a shitty ati radeon x1300 or something card in it. Barely plays games. Anyway, if i put 2 gb in it, get a radeon x1950, and a dvd drive in it will it play gta 4 without a quad core processor?

Celeron just isn't going to have the juice to run decent frame rates. I really think you would end up with a bottleneck at the processor, which doesn't happen all that often.

I wouldn't waste your money, if you upgrade your graphics card and the RAM its not going to be any better because the processor will hold you back a lot.

You could maybe throw a decent P4 in the MB if it will accept it.

But like these guys said, it's probably not even be worth trying to spend money on that machine.

I can sell you a brand new D805 on the cheap. Its one of the better overclocking dual cores of its time.

you'll need a new processor most likely, i'm using an old x2 3800+ and that website tells me i can't run GTA4, even though i run, every other game.

find out what socket mobo you have and try and upgrade your cpu a bit

I have 4g memory and an AMD 64 x 2 and i bet i couldnt play it. I can run san andreas and farcry 2 though without any issues.

DDR1 ram is kinda pricey. You could always get an X810 or somthing if you wanted to run AGP. More ram and a decent PCI/AGP card will allow you to run it, but don't expect it to be a very good experience. Throw it in a pond. You can build a new quad core PC with an 8800GT and 2 gig of ram for around $450..only a couple hundred more than it would take you to max out your old bucket 0' bolts PC.
