Getting Hired as Autotech Trainee?

I have no experience but want to get into installing as senior in high school. I just ordered a full system that I'll be installing myself next week. Best Buy's trainee program looks good for me. http://www.geeksquad.com/services/content.aspx?id=1973&menu_id=485

I've read about everyone's different view on the MECP test. Should I get it before applying? What tips would you have for getting this position?

Why not go to your local car stereo shop and start hanging out there after school. Start talking to the guys that work there and express your interest in learning how to do installs. Eventually ask the manager/owner if he would mind if you started training with the guys in the back. I would much rather learn how to install stereos from a guy with several years experience at a car stereo shop than your local best buy.
