Getting a wisdom tooth pulled today..

Eh, all four of mine will have to come out soon also. It can't be any worse than blowing out my knee(ACL, MCL, Partial LCL, Meniscus) and walking on it for three weeks...

My teeth hurt all the damn time...

I had all my wisdom teeth pulled around two years ago (easier to get them all at once just in case). Mine wasn't too bad. I requested general anesthesia but had to tell the nurse where to put the IV even though my arms are covered in easily visible veins. The next 12-18 hours were like a hallucination with bits and pieces of things. My mouth was swollen for 2-3 days then it was all a mild pain for a few weeks. I didn't take any of the pain medication or feel that bad after the first 24 hours.

The only hard part was having to eat pudding for a week and not being able to work out for awhile. Still, having gotten the procedure done on Friday morning, I was easily able to go to classes the next Monday.

I'm fine.. my wisdom teeth were fully grown in.. so all he had to do was pull it. By pressure I ment I could still feel like someone was yanking on my tooth.. no pain though.. kinda hard to explain.

The bad news is..

I still have 3 more that need to be pulled //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

acvtually my wisdon tooth hurt me worse then when i tore my ACL, and I actually broke off a piece of my ankle the same time i blew my acl but the ankle wasnt really noticable painwise compared to the acl.

army decided to yoink out mine last year. being 31 at that time with all of them erupted, the operation took place in the morning and i was able to eat a double whopper combo for dinner. the anesthetic was great, didn't feel much pain compared to getting fillings.

I had mine done last year, I'm 29. I had it easy. The surgeon my dentist recommended knocked me out with an IV. I was nervous about that because it was my first IV but I was sure glad after the fact.

He says to me, " I'm going to strap your arms in so they won't fall off ......... Don't bite down. We're all finished just relax and let the nurse know when you can see things clearly".

It was so fast. IMO probably the best way to get it done. Oh , i had all four taken at once. I was laid up for about 3 days, face all swollen. No dry socket thank god.

I was going to describe dry socket, but it would be better to google it. Nothing to worry about, just listen to what the doc tells you about the healing process.

I keep hearing about this dry socket.. I hope I don't get it.. can you explain what the hell it is?
Any socket in which a patient is having pain due to the loss of the blood clot thus exposing the bone to air, food, and fluids along with an offensive odor. This often occurs two or more days after an extraction and can last about 5-6 days.
