Getting a used vehicle checked out before buying it....

does it state the accident happened in the 2nd owners possession? if so id ask him about and say you know about it could work out to lower the price.
no, it happened in the first owners possession. and i already asked the current owner about ANY problems whatsoever and he said he hasnt had any.

the original owner sold it just out of manuf. warranty, which i know a lot of people do when they upgrade, maybe its not too bad at all. i dont want to over exaggerate the issue, but like i said i cant afford a $14k junker. I know these trucks pretty well, my dad and cousin have had about 5 or 6 similar models since ive been driving and i like them

hey cj, do you know a good mechanic? nothing against you at all, but i would like to see some diagnostics and the entire truck checked over, mainly the drivetrain, the inside looks good, but frame damage and shit like that.

if it drives well and you getting a good deal you should be good

As long as the motor/***** is good you in good shape

The accident could of been something small like a fender bender and the owner put a new bumper on.

Either way take it to a shop and spend the $50 to have some one look it over

then show the guy whats wrong and have him fix it before he sells it to you

check the tires for uneven wear, and check the alignment (let go of the steering wheel, let the truck drive itself at highway speeds and city street speeds) Look for vin stickers on all crash panels (right fender and hood)

If I were you I would take that car to a dealer and have them do a vehicle check on it. When I bough my 03 civic from a used dealer thats what i did it only cost like 100 bucks and it told me a lot about the vehicle. Of cores I took it to the Honda dealer, were I take all my cars.

^^ im definetely going to check for play in the steering, and uneven tire wear.. I talked to the bank today and they offer their complete extended warranty which covers EVERYTHING drivetrain, electrical, and basically everything. Its only like $2k for 4 year/48k miles.. not too bad. considering if the ****** went out in a couple years, that probably 2k right there... im thinking about getting that too... just in case something in the front end wants to let go in a year or two.

I'm gonna second on taking it to a mechanic.

Most mechanics will give it a quick run down of all major components on the vehicle for $50.

i went today to drive it... its a great truck. it rides sooooo much better than my lowered S10.. my god i was in heaven. it has some get up and go too, everything looked good in/on/underneath of it...

as soon as i have more time off work, im going to my bank with the guy to finalize everything. still not sure on the extended warranty...

anybody have a full size on 22"s with decent size tires? i dont want low-pro's... something around a 45 or 50 series if possible. im just wondering what it would look like and how the ride is....
