Getting a single cab loud

I am driving a GMC sonoma and I want to get some LOUD subs. Right now I am using a T3 Audio T600 12". It gets pretty loud, but I want to get a lot louder. It is in a cheap truck box I got off of eBay. What are my options to get loud? I was thinking of getting two Sundown Audio SA-8's but I don't know if that would beat out my current system. I am powering it by a 500rms Kenwood btw.

buy or build a ported sub box if its not already. it will increase the efficiency. you could also try stuffing the box with poly fill to make the sub perform like it is in a bigger box

Upgrade your front speakers with larger drivers, not all bass comes from the sub. punchy chest pounding bass is produced in the mid-range speakers.

If your missing the second, third and fourth harmonics of a drum hit you are missing out on details that make the bass sound anemic.

drum harmonics can play well up into tweeter range.

Well first you need to measure the area you have available. So, max height, width, bottom depth, and top depth. Then you need to figure out what sub(s) you will/want to run and also the power you will be using. Then you need to think of what type of output do you want and what type of music do you play most of the time.
