honestly i have been extremely busy until yesterday. so i planned to do the box today and told my gf that i would just stay at her house and build a new box and she said "no! just wait until christmas" sooo as you can see...she obviously bought me some sort of tool, im assuming, that would make building a new box a little bit easier.

tapout: i dont want to do any more injustice than i have already done, by giving this sub an opinion while it is in this alignment.

it isnt so bad if i didnt have the sub. but having it sitting in that box and only being able to turn it up a little is like making the fat kid watch everyone else eat his birthday cake

hey george... i have a quick fix for you, it will get rid of that annoying sound until you get your new box built... and DJ is going to hate me for this, because he told me not to do it in my install... BUT, in your case it will be temporary so its okay...

invert your driver. run the motor structure outside of the box and u will eliminate your uneven loading on your sub and it should stop the noise.

i dont have enough room for the motor to clear the hatch lol.

try inverting the sub and then flipping the box over, so your whole "speaking face" is up firing... it wont be the loudest, but it should stop your annoyance, and after all its an HDC315, it should still be pretty phuckin loud.

i dont really trust my jigsaw hole cutout. im afraid while the sub is moving, the surround will catch a sharp edge of the surround and mess it up. i did that with my bl's once, and i ended up putting some permanent marks in their surrounds.

i know, excuse after excuse. but i just dont want to risk ruining such a nice sub.

actually im hoping she bought me some 48" lamps lol. i cant bring my self to spend $30 a pop on em.

im not one to ask for extravagant gifts. she knows i want a router, but i told her not to spend a lot of money on me.

if i get router i would need a jasper jig, upspiral bits, smaller roundover bits, a big 1.5" round over (the cheaper ones are still $60 or so). it would be nice, but i dont need them, especially for the amount of money i would to spend on something that will only be used for sub cut outs, and home made aero's (some aesthetic stuff on boxes too). other than that, its kind of worthless to me. hell i wouldnt mind one of those cheapie table saws from HD/Lowes/Sears though.

in the mean time, if i end up getting $60 worth of clamps, ill be a happy man.
