gas prices

I dont know if anyone else knows about this but a couple of weeks ago at school on channel 1 they said that Pres. Bush signed some sort of paper back in Nov. that was supposed to lower gas prices by up to $0.20 cents in some places by January when it was supposed to go into full effect. I dont know about you people but ive noticed a large drop in gas prices here lately as well and I hope they stay down. Not 2 months ago gas prices were 1.99 regular here and now its down to 1.79 a gallon and its been falling flat on its face for the past couple of weeks.

still hovering around 2 bucks in the middle of bum**** Virginia...back home in Carolina it's a nickel to a dime more, depending on whether you go to a truckstop or local place.

I drive a vehicle with a 31 gallon tank, so yes, I realize when they drop gas prices //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

that does seem cheap from california. Whats the normal average for SD, if you had to guess?

Thats only cuz I buy gas on base. Average price in san diego right now has been about $2.45

Whats worse is there making so much money and no one is stepping up and saying anything. It will never go back down to $1.36.

I remember back then if gas went up 15 friggen cents there were rallys, protests, gas strikes... I mean what has happened in the past 10 years? Are we all being numbed in the brain people. Do we not care any more about being royally rapped by these so called Gas giants. Lets stop looking the other way, lets stop accepting these drastic changes, Lets do something for peats sake.

End crazy rant //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif

i wasnt driving 10 years ago, but i do agree that would be nice. as for average in san diego, its all crazy. ive been to downtown and its like 2.30 or so, then i go near my house and its 2.05. also there are like 2 areas that have 3 gas stations on the same intersection. 1 station has prices at 2.10 and across the stree you see 2.25 and you know what? people STILL go to the 2.25. what the hell is wrong with those guys?!

I think that means that they are going to stop filling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. (or it might be filled by January?)

OPEC sets target prices on a per barrel basis. Wall Street Journal said they are targeting about 35-41 USD/barrel. That's why prices have been falling. I think oil is trading at about 44.00 right now. The reason gas was so expensive before was because Exxon/Mobil, BP, Shell, and the rest of the bigger oil companies more and more buy their oil on the market instead of exploring and drilling their own.

Anyways, it's about 1.80 here in central MD.

i dont know if its just here but the gas prices are going really low. each day for like the last six days its been dropping five cents. does anyone know if they are supposed to stay down for a while or are they just going to shoot up like usual.

Everywhere but California. Gas prices still well over $2.

Demand is going up. There are more and more developing nations that need fuel. Don't plan on gas prices to go down. They will continue to go up until we find an alternative fuel source.

I wouldn;t call prices low. It is $1.68 here but a couple years ago it was $.79 Prices fluctuate based on the price of a barrel of oil, season changes (prices go up when the season changes because the manufacturer changes formulations to account for rise and drop in temp), geography and vacation months in summer see a spike (supply and demand).

Yes I hope they keep falling

IIRC, CA has the highest average gas price in the nation. i heard on the news that gas prices are dropping cuz of an oversupply, so now OPEC is gonna cut back production...great. i miss the days of
