gas prices? interesting

I hate all these gas issues. We pay way more than we should have to and everyone knows that. If all this is true, I hope jobs plan on giving raises to their employees... because I will need it. Or I better find a way to hook my system up on a bicycle because I will drive my bike if I need to.

Well if you are so pissed off about it go find your own oil field and go from there.

2.75 out here are rising quick...I can't wait to move - I am gonna be walking distance (1/16th of a mile) from work, no driving for me

one they could go tap right into huh.
Well he was acting like the oil companies have to sell us oil for less then $60 a barrel. Shit, its their's, they have a monopoly on oil in the world so they can charge whatever they d@mn well please.

The oil companies buy the oil for $60/barrel ... They then sell refine the oil into gasoline and sell it to the individual gas stations ...
Current Price for a barrel of oil = $63.62 USD

1 Barrel = 42 US Gallons

Cost per Gallon = $63.62/42 = $1.515/gallon

So it costs the oil companies about $1.50/gallon just to buy the oil. Then they have to refine it and ship it to the gas stations. I don't know how much this costs, but I'd imagine not a whole lot per gallon. Then taxes get added on (18.2 cents/gallon federal and then each state and county will have its own taxes they add on). And then a very small profit margin for the gas station.

$1.515 - Oil Company Cost

$??? - Refining, shipping, etc.

$??? - Oil Company Profit

$0.182+??? - Taxes

$??? - Gas Station Profit

-----------------------------------

$2.75 - Price you pay

???s = ~$1.33 ... My guess is that half of that is profit for the oil company.
No, you tell them to give it to me cheaper because I'm american!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
